Founded in 1986 by Richard Parsakian – architect, LGBTQIA+ advocate, community activist, and lifelong fashion enthusiast — Eons has spent nearly four decades curating an extraordinary collection of authentic clothing and accessories for men and women spanning the 1880s through the 1980s. What began as a passion project, with Richard selling vintage pieces from his home, quickly grew into one of Pittsburgh’s most beloved and enduring retail destinations.
Our History
Founded in 1986 by visionary and Pittsburgh icon Richard Parsakian, Eons Fashion Antique has grown from a passionate home-based endeavor into a beloved Shadyside institution. Celebrating our 40th anniversary in July 2026, our boutique at 5850 Ellsworth Avenue has spent decades meticulously curating an extraordinary collection of vintage clothing and accessories spanning from the 1880s through the 1980s.
Richard’s journey to fashion began far from the runway. Arriving in Pittsburgh in 1971 as a VISTA volunteer with degrees in architecture and building science, he initially focused on designing playgrounds for underserved neighborhoods. His deep-rooted commitment to social change eventually intertwined with his love for fashion, leading to the creation of Eons. Today, the store is not just a retail space; it is a veritable museum of style, drawing fashion enthusiasts, international vintage dealers, and acclaimed costume designers from across the globe.
